Taiwan is at the crossroads of some of Asia’s busiest air routes. Thus travel to and from the island is easy and convenient. There are two international airports in Taiwan, Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (/www.kia.gov.tw/english/e_index.asp) in the north and Kaohsiung International Airport (http://www.kia.gov.tw/english/e_index.asp)in the south.
Air+Bus(Taxi)
By flying to Kaohsiung, you can take ChongNan Bus, Pingtung Bus, or King Bus from Kaohsiung International Airport to hotel directly. It takes about 2.5 hours to reach Kengting by bus. There is a bus stop right in the front of Howard Beach Resort hotel.

Taxi
There might have taxi driver invite you to share his taxis with some other travelers, the price around (NT400) or you can hire a taxi (NT1600). And it should take around 2 hours to reach the Howard Beach Resort hotel.
Air+HSR+Bus(Taxi)
The Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport is also Known as the CKS International Airport, before. Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport has over 35 airlines connecting worldwide. Visitor can take taxi (bus is not recommend because of coufusing) from Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport to Taiwan High Speed Rail Taoyuan station (http://www.thsrc.com.tw/en/index.htm)(15 min drive), take the HSR to Zuoying(Kaohsiung) (1hr. 48min.), then take bus or taxi to hotel directly.

Visa Information
Foreign nationals may obtain visas from embassies, consulates
or representative offices of the R.O.C. (Taiwan). The
necessary application form and further information can

Visa Exempt Entry:
30 days visa exempt entry applied for citizens of Australia,
Austria, Belgium, Canada, Costa Rica, Czech Republic,
Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland,
Iceland, Italy, *Japan, Republic of Korea, Liechtenstein,
Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Monaco, the Netherlands
, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden,
Switzerland, U.K. and U.S.A. (Japanese passport holders
can stay up to 90 days)
Landing Visa:
30 days landing visas can be obtained upon arrival at
Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport and Kaoshiung International
Airport.
Holders of emergency or temporary passports with validity
more than six months for nationals of Hungary , Poland
and Slovak eligible for visa-exempt and landing-visa
entry.
Holders of USA passport with validity less than six
months.
Visitor Visa:
Applicants can lodge their applications with the necessary
documents and statutory fee at our overseas missions.
Interview may be required when necessary.

Currency
The Taiwan’s unit of currency is the New Taiwan Dollar
(NT$).
As of May 2008, the exchange rate was quoted around
NT$33 to one US Dollar. Foreign currencies can be exchanged
at the airport upon arrival, or at government-authorized
banks, hotels, and large department stores. Receipts
are given when currency is exchanged, and must be presented
in order to exchange unused NT Dollars before departure.
Traveler’s checks in major currencies may be cashed
at some tourist-oriented businesses and most international
hotels.
Credit Cards
Hotels, department stores, airlines, large stores and
restaurants accept major credit cards; however, you
can still withdrawing in some ATMs, which has the following
sign:

Banks are open from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.
Telecommunication Service
One local call from a pay phone costs NT$1 for 1 minute,
after which additional coins are needed or the line
will be automatically disconnected. On private phones,
the overseas operator may be reached by dialing “100.”
International calls can be made from private cell phones,
public IDD phones, or hotel IDD phones.
The international access code is 002, 005, 006, 007,
009, and 019. For example, you need to dial 002-1-415-555-1212
to reach directory assistance (555-1212) in San Francisco
which has the area code of “415”and the country code
of “1”.
Rental cell phones are available at Taiwan Taoyuan or
Kaohsiung Internal Airport, if your cell phone does
not support GSM900 or GMS1800, the systems supported
in Taiwan.
Electricity Supply
110 volts A. C. 60 Hz.
Tipping/Taxes
Tipping is optional. It is usual, however, to tip hotel
porters and for restaurant service. A 10% service charge
and a 5% value-added tax are added to room rates and
meals.
